Cabinet approves two instalments of DA, plans measures to tackle drought
The state cabinet has approved two instalments of drought assistance and announced plans to address the 17% rainfall shortfall that ended last Wednesday. It will convene an all‑party meeting and consult farmers’ groups and sector experts before finalising mitigation measures, said Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. The measures will focus on irrigation projects, water conservation initiatives, and financial support for affected farmers.
