Kochi metro needs 17 more train rakes for Kakkanad, airport extensions
Kochi metro plans to add 17 train rakes for the new 11.20‑km Pink Line to Kakkanad and a 19‑km extension to the airport. The extra rakes would keep the service interval at six to seven minutes. For the Kakkanad corridor alone, only five to eight rakes would be enough. The expansion aims to improve connectivity between the city center and the international airport.
