Bengaluru witnesses driest monsoon in decades
The India Meteorological Department reports that Bengaluru experienced its driest monsoon in decades, with the city’s weather station measuring just 313 millimetres of rain from June through September, a shortfall of 236 millimetres compared with normal levels. The deficit marks a significant deviation from typical monsoon precipitation patterns for the region. According to the data, this represents the lowest rainfall since records began in 1970s.
