Frame SOP governing participation of elephants in temple events, religious functions, Madras HC directs Tamil Nadu government
The Madras High Court ordered the Tamil Nadu government to submit a draft standard operating procedure that regulates the use of elephants in temple ceremonies and other religious functions. Chief Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari and Justice G. Arul Murugan set a deadline of October 30, 2026 for the document to be placed before the court.
