
Kyiv Independent editor: ‘Our readers want Russia to suffer but we can’t be propagandists’
Kyiv Independent editor Olga Rudenko told The Guardian that while many of the outlet’s readers hope for Russian defeat, the publication must avoid becoming a propaganda tool. She said the site’s responsibility is to cover Russian military advances and instances of corruption in Ukraine, even when those topics attract less audience interest and ensure balanced reporting.
